Partner Feature: University of Illinois - Chicago

The University of Illinois at Chicago is, well we can’t say our favorite partner, but they’re one of the best. You can’t go wrong with one of the top-ranked public universities in the United States, a thriving urban campus, and high-quality academics.

Top tier location.

The UIC campus is located in bustling downtown Chicago, a city with a population of 2.7 million, providing that urban city experience while maintaining a true university campus vibe. Chicago is the third-largest city in the U.S., boasting incredible architecture, cultural diversity, and access to beautiful Lake Michigan.

When you study abroad at UIC, you’ll have the opportunity to meet other students from nearby universities and experience Chicago attractions like Navy Pier, Millenium Park, the Art Institute of Chicago, and more! What’s even more exciting? Chicago is in the center of the country with a major international airport, so you can travel as much as you want across the U.S. during your time at UIC.

Academics and career development.

With 86 undergraduate degrees and more than 70 minors, you will definitely find the perfect academic program. Architecture, Business Administration, Finance, Education, Engineering, Biotechnology, Economics, and Public Affairs are just a few of UIC’s top-ranked programs.

New for 2020/2021: you have the option to participate in UIC Live, a cutting-edge option to take your first-year classes online from home, utilizing UIC’s digital classroom experience. UIC cares about their international students’ learning and they don’t want you to miss out due to any travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

While at UIC, you will be able to engage in hands-on learning and professional development. Let’s talk about STEM. For example, the Engineering department alone has 20 student organizations and more than 500 companies hiring UIC students every year. Also, first-year Engineering students are guaranteed a paid internship. Other STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) allow international students even greater opportunities to stay in the U.S. and gain real-world professional experiences following their studies.

Students who choose to study Business are able to leverage their learning in the classroom to real-life projects in the Chicago area through internships with hundreds of local agencies. We’ll help you navigate which major is right for you so that you can elevate your career beyond graduation.

Regardless of the major you choose, once you’re on campus the Career Accelerator Program will help you navigate everything from C.V. writing to interview skills to even landing an internship in Chicago or elsewhere in the country!

When you work with Agave Education to apply for admission at UIC, you will also be able to apply for scholarships. We will walk you through all of your admissions and financial award options.

Ultimately, the University of Illinois at Chicago boasts the most diverse student campus in the U.S., welcomes international students, and provides a city/campus lifestyle you can’t find anywhere else. Let’s chat about your next steps!
